[POSSIBILITY OF AN EARLIER START DATE]. Seven County Senior Federation (SCSF) is a member based organization located in Central Minnesota offering a variety of services targeted to serve seniors and low-income families. Membership is available to persons age 50+ for a minimal annual fee and we do offer our services to both members, as well as non-members alike. Services we currently provide include Senior Partners Care (SPC), which works in conjunction with Medicare; 55+ Defensive Driving courses; FREE tax preparation for seniors and low-income families; Social Security, Insurance, and Medicare counseling services; advocacy and referral sources. The ultimate goal of this project is to identify and increase the number of people and services we can offer in Aitkin, Carlton, Chisago, Isanti, Kanabec, Mille Lacs and Pine counties. Many of our current members, who are at or close to poverty level, are faced with losing personal lifestyle choices, not to mention their health, or worse. In order to delay or eliminate this growing trend, we need to substantially improve our outreach efforts and get a more coordinated, comprehensive message out to the thousands of potential residents of this region that would benefit from our many programs, but simply aren’t aware of them. Our programs offer persons we serve to live safely and more comfortable in their home and the community than if they had not had our support. We are looking for a self-motivated person who can help us with marketing by collecting and making better use of our existing data, as well as, developing promotional materials and meeting with people and groups to inform our communities-at-large about all we have to offer in order to build awareness and support for our organization and its members.

Member Duties : The ideal VISTA member will be skilled in writing, marketing, communication and be capable of effectively educating the general public about our organization and services through a variety of mediums (print, web, video, radio, etc.). Projects include researching, identifying, analyzing and coordinating promotion of our brand and messaging to encompass and highlight our numerous offerings. Design a marketing strategy and materials to promote awareness for senior and low-income programs. Utilize our current database and implement processes to offer a more concise and consistent manner of gathering information. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a core staff of 4 professionals who have a passion for making life easier for seniors and low-income families.
