15-16 IA College Aid, Indian Hills Community College

The VISTA member will work closely with the Educational Opportunity Center, Indian Hills Community College, Ottumwa Community School District and Cradle- College- Career (C3) collaborative to support a community-wide effort to increase college access and success. This will include building strong partnerships with area organizations and agencies to support students in applying for, entering and completing college. The member will also conduct a community needs assessment to identify resources and barriers to college completion. This position is located in Ottumwa, Iowa.

Member Duties : This AmeriCorps VISTA member will work with Iowa College Aid and Indian Hills Community College (IHCC) to build a coordinated effort around college access and success for Ottumwa area residents.The member will support a community-wide, collaborative effort to increase postsecondary attainment by building strong partnerships, collaborating with local agencies, and conducting a community needs assessment. The member will coordinate local College Application Campaign and FAFSA Completion Initiative, and develop informational materials promoting available resources for residents.
