Member Duties : AmeriCorps members save valuable police officer time by assisting police units with the execution of crime prevention and other details. The members also assist law enforcement personnel with major and minor incidents, such as terrorist attacks, large fires, plane crashes, prolonged investigations, car accidents, and disabled vehicles.
AmeriCorps members assist the School Resource Officers by patrolling the school grounds at two local high schools and middle schools, which will lead to an increase of a safer school environment.
AmeriCorps members support the Clearwater Police Department efforts to promote public safety, public health, disaster relief and preparedness related to homeland security. These efforts are implemented by assisting police personnel in education and training the public through community seminars.
