Dunwoody College of Technology - Communications Liaison-PSEI

Founded in 1914, Dunwoody is a private, not-for-profit, endowed institution of higher education. It is the oldest institution of its kind in the Upper Midwest, with an international reputation for outstanding educational programs. It is also the only non-profit, technical college in the Upper Midwest and one of only three nationwide. Dunwoody is located on the west side of Minneapolis, serving approximately 1200 fulltime students a year. Dunwoody offers certificates, associates degrees and bachelor degrees. Dunwoody is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association. Workforce Training & Continuing Education (WTCE) is a Department within the college that manages all non-credit base training to individuals, service organizations as well as business and industry. This training focuses on the skills needed to enter the workforce immediately or to help an incumbent employee advance their skills. We are seeking a VISTA to help build our Department’s capacity to better serve all our customer's immediate needs. The VISTA will assist with projects, oversee the WTCE Department's Website, as well as research new training programs which would lead to successful job placement and closing the skills gap for employers. This VISTA work will help strengthen our existing services, position us to expand accelerated and customized training programs and reach out to more people in need of a career change or professional growth. This VISTA will be part of the Phillips Sectoral Employment Initiative (PSEI) cohort. Members of this cohort will learn and grow together throughout their term of service through bi-weekly professional development, group attendance at regional conferences and regular team building activities.
