ESNS - Workforce Connections Specialist - PSEI
 
 
 
Organized in 1915, East Side Neighborhood Services, Inc. (ESNS) is a nonprofit human service agency located in Northeast Minneapolis that offers a variety of programming for our diverse metropolitan community. Our mission is to assist people of all ages and backgrounds in realizing a higher quality of life. The ESNS Employment and Training Department is seeking a VISTA member to help us take our training program to the next level. The Workforce Connections Specialist's role will be to increase enrollment and employment opportunities for trainees by developing and implementing creative marketing and outreach strategies. Additionally, the Workforce Connections Specialist will help seek funding to support program initiatives. The 2014-15 VISTA member will work closely with the Adult Employment Lead Counselor & Training Program Coordinator and will collaborate with the Employment and Development Teams as well. Members of this cohort will learn and grow together throughout their term of service through bi-weekly professional development, group attendance at regional conferences and regular team building activities. Member Duties : The Workforce Connections Specialist will make a difference in the lives of low income job seekers in a variety of ways. The VISTA will develop a network of industry partners, find creative ways to promote the training program, and seek out sources of funding. The WCS will have lots of freedom to innovate and help develop strategic initiatives for this training program! The VISTA member will have the opportunity to: 1. Increase student enrollment through recruitment and community outreach activities. 2. Develop and implement new program marketing materials and strategies. 3. Network with sectoral industry employers to create employment, internship, volunteer and job shadowing opportunities. 4. Increase funding streams by researching and applying for grants as well as seeking opportunities for collaborations. 5. Increase the use of technology to market programs, collect and track program data, and increase employment opportunities. *Vehicle with insurance is required
