City of Memphis Office of Youth Services/Marketing Coordinat

The Memphis Ambassadors Program (MAP) integrates community, business, and neighborhood alliances provide a curriculum based on four core values: Education, Health, Civic and Social Responsibility, and Employability. MAP also provides service learning opportunities, youth leadership development, post -secondary preparation, cultural enrichment, life skills training, career exploration, financial literacy, and other youth-oriented activities. MAP participants receive a quarterly stipend based on program attendance and participation. The program operates out of eight community sites throughout the seven Memphis City Council districts. Each site is supported by a community cluster, which includes faith-based institutions, businesses, schools, neighborhood organizations, nonprofits, government agencies, parents and volunteers.

Member Duties : The OYS Marketing Coordinator VISTA will work with the Director of OYS and the Mayors Communication liaisons to create a marketing strategy, to maintain updates to its website and to program brochures. The VISTA will also provide guidance and take the lead on training members of the Memphis Ambassadors Program media team. Annually Sixteen Ambassadors will be trained to work as reporters for their District Site. The VISTA will also work with the community cluster representatives to ensure that the entire community is aware of program sponsored activities.
