Volunteer NH Resource Development VISTA

Volunteer NH’s mission is to promote the tradition of volunteerism and ethic of service in New Hampshire. We support and sponsor national service initiatives and provide training, recognition, and a central site for volunteers and volunteer programs to strengthen their communities. We seek to bridge the gap between the need for resources and the available resources with volunteer service. New Hampshire’s low-income residents have been hurt by budget cuts in social safety net programs, and they are more vulnerable than ever. Many of the state and nonprofit social service organizations that NH citizens have relied on for help have experienced budget cuts as well. The result of this is that people are relying more and more on volunteers to support their services to NH neediest residents. Volunteer NH connects the free resources of volunteer service organizations and programs to help low-income and at-risk populations by directing volunteers to where they are needed the most. Services include: providing training to volunteers and managers, assistance with matching of volunteers, and increasing the awareness of volunteers and the critical needs that they meet through the recognition programs. Volunteer NH plans to secure funding to its already utilized programs and expand impact of these programs to reach more people and organizations statewide. By bringing on important partners and business support and assisting business leaders with planning for engaging within their NH communities we can amplify the impact and offerings to help address the unmet state needs, and offer people opportunities to serve that will help them to help themselves and their neighbors.
