An outstanding service opportunity for an organized, passionate, and friendly individual seeking nonprofit experience! Strong City Baltimore is the VISTA Project Sponsor for approximately 20 nonprofits, city agencies, and community organizations throughout Baltimore City and across Maryland. Established in 1969 to help neighborhoods become safer, better places to live, Strong City's mission is to build and strengthen neighborhoods and people. The VISTA Cohort Leaders recruit and mentor Strong City's team of VISTA members and facilitate their training through on-site orientation and professional development meetings. This challenging, senior staff-level position provides extensive opportunities for skill development in training, peer mentoring, public relations, nonprofit management and development. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are essential. Successful VISTA Leaders are flexible, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and emotionally intelligent.

Member Duties : *TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS POSITION, APPLICANTS MUST HAVE SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED A VISTA SERVICE TERM BY THE START DATE* Strong City leverages a VISTA Leader on our team to enhance the quality of the overall VISTA experience for members. The Leaders will: 1. Support the activities of up to 20 VISTA volunteers, by assisting them in developing sustainable projects, navigating a year of service, and communicating program needs back to Strong City's VISTA leadership; 2. Develop and implement a professional development curriculum to provide technical training, facilitate meaningful conversations, and cultivate emerging nonprofit and community leaders; 3. Under the guidance of staff, support the recruitment for Strong City's selected 2019-2020 VISTA Projects Cohort, including year-round program promotion. Note:Valid driver's license is required
