Member Duties : • Assist in the development and maintenance of a recover-oriented environment by providing any of the following services to consumers; model good communication skills, recovery-oriented living skills, effective coping skills, and self-help strategies
• Orient new consumers to their mental health team
• Develop and maintain a supportive relationship with consumers
• Independently facilitate and structure skill training groups, such as social skills, assertiveness, anger management, problem-solving skills, etc.
• Educate consumer about community resources, and support consumers in using these resources to improve their independent living skills
• Provide telephone support to consumers through a "warm-line" service in non-emergency situations
• Stay abreast of the recovery and psychosocial rehabilitation literature by on-going reading and attendance at appropriate trainings
• Maintain active involvement in the further development of peer support services within the At Ease Program
