Project Reach Lutheran Social Services

Project Reach Lutheran Social Services wants to recruit AmeriCorps members who are highly committed to social work in general. A member must have patience, good communication skills, and be at ease working with either troubled children in a group care environment, adults with disabilities and/or senior citizens who live independently. Furthermore, the member should be able to cope with stress and be comfortable in a multi-cultural service environment. Ideally, the member will see this sort of service as a call to duty and a way to give back to and support the local community of the U.S. Virgin Islands. On the island of St. Croix, members will be recruited to serve at Queen Louise Home for Children, Flambouyant Gardens, Ginger Thomas Residence and the Housing Management Division. On the island of St. Thomas, members will be recruited to serve at Ebenezer Gardens and Yellow Cedar Residence. ** As of Oct. 7, 2013 we have one open slot for a Cottage Parent at Queen Louise Home for Children.
