Are you passionate about financial stability and education? Do you enjoy working directly with people? We are developing a dynamic team of 23 service-minded, results-driven candidates who will provide direct financial stability services to low-income individuals and families throughout the Upstate of SC, leading them into economic mobility. Our team is trained in three key areas: • Resource Navigation: Case management, crisis assistance, and connecting clients with community resources • Financial Literacy: Teaching financial literacy to clients individually or in a classroom setting • VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance): Free tax preparation service in the community Selected candidates will be matched with host organizations. Team members have the opportunity to learn from experts in the nonprofit field, gain practical experience in community and economic development, community outreach, and more. This is a great opportunity for recent graduates, retirees, or anyone who is interested in starting a career in the nonprofit field. If you have the desire to serve others and have skills or experience related to social services, human services, case management, or community organization, you would be a great fit for our program. Our partner host sites for 2020-2021 are: United Way of Greenville (Grant Holder), United Way of Laurens, United Way of Pickens, AIM (Anderson Interfaith Ministries), Family Promise of Laurens County, Goodwill (Berea, Simpsonville, Easley, and Phyllis Wheatley locations), Greenlink, Greenville Free Clinic, Greenville Technical College, Greer Relief, Hispanic Alliance, Mill Village Farms, Rebuild Upstate, SC Empowerment Centre, United Ministries, VITA program

Member Duties : Variety of positions available! Duties vary depending on placement; program staff matches applicant with site. Team member will assist partner nonprofits across four counties in serving their client’s needs (Greenville, Pickens, Anderson, and Laurens). Tasks may include: assisting clients in navigating community resources, benefit application assistance, teaching financial literacy, preparing tax returns, and case management. Serve full-time giving back to the local community and gain professional experience. Must be computer literate: will use computer software to assist clients. Some evenings and weekends required during 10 week tax season (Jan-Apr). Member responsible for attending a two-week orientation and monthly leadership development opportunities, submitting time sheets, and tracking program data.
