As a College Prep Mentor, you will support our College Prep Program guide our teen youth through the scholastic and ultimate application requirements to be successfully college bound. As a Volunteer Coordinator, you will recruit adult volunteers to (1) assist in our after-school programs, (2) mentor and inspire youth in life skills, and/or (3) tutor youth with their homework. The Boys & Girls Clubs of SW Washington’s programs support the core beliefs of the organization including to provide a safe place to learn and grow, and life-enhancing programs and character development experiences.

Member Duties : In addition to the College Prep Mentor responsibilities as described above, each WSC member will continue to develop and grow our mentorship/volunteer program at their club site. They will be responsible for recruiting, selecting, training, managing, recognizing, and retaining volunteers; as well as collaborating with staff, parents, and Club members to create relationships that provide a benefit to the at-risk youth we serve. They will play an active role in ensuring volunteer mentors and tutors feel supported, as well as equipped in their relationships with Club members. These WSC members will also organize and supervise quarterly service projects. The WSC member will be expected to work in a team environment as well as independently.
