Leader - Washington Service Corps

The Washington Service Corps provides service opportunities to nearly 900 AmeriCorps members each year. Members contribute their time, energy and talents to improve communities across Washington State in 6 specific focus areas: Disaster Preparation, Economic Opportunity, Education, Environmental Stewardship, Healthy Futures, Veterans and Military Families. You will serve primarily with the Individual Placement and Special Programs Team that includes 5 Program Coordinators serving approximately 290 members. This position is full-time with mostly an 8 am to 5 pm schedule Monday – Friday. There may be some evening and weekend hours required for special projects, travel and training. You will be required to attend WSC training events including the SERVES Institute which requires a two night, out–of-town stay October 28-30. You're a good fit for this position if you like to lead/support others, create electronic newsletters and training materials, coordinate events and want experience serving with an intermediary within state government. You will serve in an office cubicle environment within the Washington State Employment Security Department in the Olympia/Lacey area of Washington State with a group that is dedicated to national service and meeting local community needs.
