20-21 Seattle Education Access Academic Success Tutor

About Us: Seattle Education Access (SEA) was founded in 2002 to support low-income young people under the age of 30 whose educations have been disrupted by poverty, adversity, and trauma. SEA’s goal is to provide individualized support and planning as students finish their GED, prepare for college, and go through the college process. Most young people who re-engage with education through SEA’s assistance have not completed their high school diploma or ever enrolled in college. Many students want an education but lack the resources and information to start the process. SEA currently partners with over 30 organizations across King County, including community based organizations and community colleges to connection with low-income young people who have disrupted educations. Students are recruited through intentional referrals by partner organizations. Each student’s educational path is assessed on a case-by-case basis and a personalized plan is designed to help the student succeed in college and address any barriers they face to ensure they graduate. We provide career and academic advising, help with financial aid and enrollment processes, scholarship support, and tutoring.
