YALLA Evaluation and Volunteer Coordinator IRC Intermediary
 
 
 
With college as the goal, YALLA participants are engaged with soccer and athletics; they are expected to adhere to YALLA's education program. Many of the children suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder and have lost family members to war. The high school age participants engage in leadership development and coaching training. YALLA has served child survivors of war from Burma, Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran, Sudan, Kenya, Burundi, Somalia, Tanzania and Democratic Republic of Congo, as well as immigrant children from Central America and Mexico, and the African-American community. Member Duties : Goal: To build the capacity of YALLA San Diego to provide soccer, academic, leadership and eco-therapy services to K-12 refugee and immigrant youth in San Diego County through a benchmark evaluation of the Scholar-Athlete Program and engage relevant local stakeholders. The purpose of the position is to: 1) Develop and track evaluation measures for the Education Program, ensuring that Scholar-Athlete and College Prep program goals are meeting determined benchmarks. 2) Recruit and retain committed academic volunteers. 3) Coordinate with school districts and teachers to manage recruitment and develop creative curriculum. 4) Collaborate with partner organizations and cultivate networks to identify grants and funding opportunities.
