Breakthrough Providence Program Associate
 
 
 
The AmeriCorps*VISTA Program Associate will work full-time as part of a dynamic team to organize technological and human resources to support our “students teaching students” programming. QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience • A strong sense of purpose and vision for expanding educational opportunity and promoting educational equity, particularly for low-income students of color • Ability to thrive in a small, fast-paced non-profit environment that values collaboration, creativity, strong work ethic, and Summerbridge Spirit • Excellent writing, organization, and technology skills; excellent attention to detail • Ability to work nights and weekends, as needed • Knowledge of Providence public schools, community-based organizations, higher education institutions, resources, and networks is a plus • Prior Summerbridge/Breakthrough experience is a plus • Conversational proficiency in Spanish is a plus

Member Duties : • Recruit program alumni to serve as tutors, teachers, special event guests/speakers, and mentors to low-income, first generation college-bound middle school students • Analyze student and teacher outcomes data to support program improvement and bolster our fundraising case for our summer learning loss intervention • Manage Summerbridge Program operations, including overseeing the team that recruits and trains volunteers and creates enrichment opportunities for middle school students • Plan and execute special events to support and engage our Middle School Program graduates, including 9th Grade Check-in, Winter Break Alumni Night, High School Lunches, and Senior Dinner • Manage Facebook page, website, and internal google apps systems
