Richland Community Building: Green Strategies and Housing Pr
 
 
 
Assist a vibrant organization committed to affordable housing, community building, and going green! This opportunity focuses on community development including community building & organizing; working with volunteers; green initiatives; capacity building for financial education & HomeOwnership Center programs; and collecting and analyzing data. VISTA member will work primarily with the Community Building team of the Operations Manager and our other VISTA member who is returning for his 2nd year at this organization. This position will assist VISTA #1 with ongoing capacity neighborhood and neighborhood association building in Richland Center, Wisconsin and in our regional service area. Ideal candidates will: have strong verbal and written skills, be highly motivated and work independently, be experienced working with data and spreadsheets, be comfortable using the internet for research and social media, be comfortable working in diverse communities, bachelors degree preferred, demonstrate experience in community service and leadership, be dedicated and flexible. Member Duties : Research green certification and assist with organization’s green measures. Work with all lines of business on green policies and procedures. Use surveys to analyze the effectiveness of green training. Help the Homeownership Center integrate green education and determine the best way to educate the buyers of new homes. Partner with Ho-Chunk Housing and Community Development Agency to develop grant funding for Green initiatives and opportunities for collaboration. Create an outreach plan to advertise new green initiatives in the community. Partner with the 2nd VISTA member on green community building strategies in neighborhoods: community gardens, beautification, neighbor-to-neighbor workshops etc. Evaluate programs of homeownership and foreclosure counseling. Create case studies on impact for funders and marketing. Assist in financial fitness curriculum development, partnership building, marketing and outreach to get a sustainable flow of participants to the program.
