FIT VISTA-Volunteer Engagement VISTA- Families in Transition
 
 
 
Families in Transition (FIT) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide safe, affordable housing and comprehensive supportive services to individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, enabling them to gain self-sufficiency and respect. With 17 properties and approximately 200 housing units, FIT provides transitional and permanent housing to the homeless in Manchester, Concord and Dover NH. FIT also owns and operates two thrift stores which serve as an economic engine to help pay for services provided to the homeless in New Hampshire. The Families in Transition Program places VISTAs across the state, with the goal of improving the quality of life for the most disadvantage members of our community. The program is organized and run by Families in Transition (FIT), a nonprofit providing housing and services to individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless in Manchester, Dover and Concord New Hampshire.

Member Duties : The Volunteer Engagement VISTA position plays a critical role in Families in Transition (FIT). Volunteers are a huge part of FITs business model and how we serve those that need our housing and clinical services. This fast-paced position requires an organized self-starter, who can multitask and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. This person will be tasked to work with the Donor Relations Manager to create a High Impact Volunteer Engagement (HIVE) pilot program that FIT was one of ten non profits in NH that was recently chosen to partner with the NH Charitable Foundation & NH Center for Non Profits. The goal of this VISTA position is to create a meaningful volunteer program that strongly impacts those we serve and the volunteers themselves.
