CityArts Summer Arts Learning VISTA (2)
 
 
 
Providence CityArts Summer Arts Program will engage 120 elementary and middle school, urban at-risk youth in arts experiences that extend learning opportunities beyond the school year. Through quality arts instruction, CityArts Summer Arts Program will help youth develop/strengthen critical thinking skills and creativity, sustain a momentum for learning beyond the academic year, and empower youth to become confident and responsible community members. Youth will demonstrate ways to express ideas and concepts, gain opportunities to work with peers and develop positive social skills, and take pride in their creative accomplishments.

Member Duties : CityArts Summer Arts Learning VISTA will 1)generate interest and participation in CityArts Summer Arts through outreach efforts; 2)assist in planning, organizing and setting-up creative learning environments and activities for summer studio-classrooms/projects; 3)work directly with youth by leading and/or assisting in studio-classrooms and enrichment/recreation activities to achieve arts learning goals; and 4)collect data and information, and document summer outcomes for youth.

Prohibits paid work outside of the sponsoring agency at any time ,  Permits attendance at school during off hours .
