Montana Energy Corps-NCAT-Weatherization and Energy Educator
 
 
 
Get hands-on experience in green-collar service! Energy Corps members will be placed with organizations and agencies in communities throughout the nation providing service that will achieve the following project goals:Hands –On Energy Assistance: Energy Corps members will provide hands-on energy efficiency and alternative energy assistance to underserved communities and groups, Energy Education and Outreach: Energy Corps members will create energy awareness through education and outreach activities to those groups and communities most affected by energy and climate fluctuations, Community Organizing: Energy Corps members will work to form energy action networks and organize communities to develop sustainable strategic energy plans, Green jobs training: Energy Corps members are given opportunities for professional development in the growing green collar economy. Members are provided training and experience that will adequately prepare them for jobs in this growing sector.

Member Duties : The Energy Corps member will provide renewable energy and energy efficiency education, as well as light weatherization for households throughout the state of Montana. Working in a team of two, the Energy Corps members will perform public outreach by organizing, hosting, and presenting educational events that are focused on energy efficiency and renewable energy in communities across the state. While conducting these education events, the members will identify and conduct light weatherization in 300- 350 homes. This work will be done cooperatively with an electric and natural gas utility and will include learning experiences with utility staff and operations. Specific position responsibilities include the installation of light weatherization kits in homes around Montana and development of energy efficiency education events in communities around the state. Member will be based in Butte, but will travel extensively within Montana for the majority of their term of service.
