2013/2014 Volunteer Maryland Peer Leader
 
 
 
Volunteer Maryland (VM) creates volunteer programs with nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and schools. Through an 11-month partnership, Volunteer Maryland places individual AmeriCorps members as volunteer coordinators. With training and support, the volunteer coordinator’s role is to create a volunteer program that fits the needs of the organization and the community.

Member Duties : Peer Leaders provide frontline support to the Volunteer Maryland Coordinators at their Service Sites as well as working with Volunteer Maryland staff to meet program objectives. Duties include: Management and Support - facilitate regional meetings; attend site visits as requested; provide technical assistance, coaching, and counseling. Training - assist with pre-service and monthly training days; work with VM staff to prepare and facilitate on-site training for site staff as requested. Program Outreach and Marketing - assist with recruitment and selection of future VM Coordinators and Service Sites; write articles for newsletter; network with other nonprofits; attend outreach as requested. Because the Peer Leader is a guide for first-year AmeriCorps members, preference is given to applicants who have completed a term of AmeriCorps service.
