Riverzedge Arts Summer
 
 
 
AmeriCorps VISTA Summer Associates will support two pilot summer learning programs at Riverzedge Arts: Websites, Widgets and Work (www) a workforce development program in which youth develop skills in information technology and web design and development, and Summer Learning in the City (in partnership with Neighborworks Blackstone River Valley) where youth do design/build projects focused on sustainability and community improvement while building STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) skills.

Member Duties : VISTA volunteers will be engaged in all aspects of Riverzedge summer program development and implementation through capacity building and direct service. One summer VISTA member will work with Summer Learning in the City: he or she will develop a curriculum in which youth will build strong STEAM, IT and design skills through real world projects and experiential learning; assist participants with the design/build process from drafting to fabrication and installation, improve social enterprise and entrepreneurial aspects of the program, and generally build capacity. The second VISTA Summer Associate will work primarily with the pilot www program, teaching web design and development including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to youth participants. He or she will also assist with various aspects of the Summer Learning in the City program as needed.
