Urban Boatbuilders -- St. Paul VISTA Program
Urban Boatbuilders' mission is to provide positive youth development through the building and use of boats. We engage at-risk youth using boat building as a vehicle to develop academic, social, vocational, and leadership skills in the lives of at-risk youth. The Urban Boatbuilders VISTA project will ensure that the impact of our programs are being effectively measured, there is diverse funding to support our work, and that the programs are effective and positioned for expansion in the near future. The VISTA member will be an integral part of a small team of staff and a larger team of volunteers who ensure the success and growth of the program ultimately ensuring that youth have access to life-altering programming. **This VISTA position is sponsored by the Saint Paul VISTA Program. Hosted in Mayor Chris Coleman's Office, the Saint Paul VISTA Program is comprised of a city-wide cohort of individuals -- placed at community organizations and schools -- dedicated to shaping the educational landscape for youth and families in Saint Paul.**
