Sprockets/Createch Studio -- St. Paul VISTA Program
 
 
 
The Arlington Hills Community Center is a joint-use facility with Saint Paul Public Libraries and Saint Paul Parks and Recreation. The Teen Digital Learning Lab is a creative technology studio for teens. Mentors will encourage exploration, spark passion, and connect teens with resources needed to learn and pursue their interests. Mentors will support the teens’ individual growth. The Teen Digital Learning Lab responds to the interests of the teens and is directly shaped by the skills and enthusiasm of its mentors. The mentors, the neighborhood, and community partners all contribute to the success of the growth and development of programs and the vitality of the teen space. The goal of the VISTA project is to coordinate the Teen Digital Learning Lab mentor program. **This VISTA position is sponsored by the Saint Paul VISTA Program. Hosted in Mayor Chris Coleman's Office, the Saint Paul VISTA Program comprises of a city-wide cohort of individuals -- placed at community organizations and schools -- dedicated to shaping the educational landscape for youth and families in Saint Paul.**

Member Duties : The VISTA will support and build capacity for the Teen Digital Learning Lab, which opened in May, by coordinating the volunteer mentor program. This will include working with the Teen Digital Learning Lab staff to recruit, select, train, and support the volunteer mentors. The VISTA will also work to increase the capacity of the Teen Digital Learning Lab by doing outreach and community engagement, collecting data, researching fund development opportunities, and communicating with internal and external partners.
