Leech Lake Boys & Girls Club - Initiative Foundation
 
 
 
The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Leech Lake Area (BGCLLA) offer a variety of after-school and summer programs to youth living throughout the region. We are entirely dependent upon community donations and grants for funding and operate four Clubs located in the Leech Lake Minnesota area, with approximately 750 active members. VISTA will serve in the club in Cass Lake - a small community bordered by a great fishing lake, lots of recreational activities, and really nice people. BGCLLA was developed by a group of concerned citizens after it became apparent that the youth living on or near the Leech Lake Reservation were struggling in multiple areas of life. This group brought together a large number of youth from the area and asked them what THEY needed to be successful. They asked for a safe place to be, a place where they could get assistance, and a place to have fun. The result of this meeting was the Boys and Girls Clubs.

Member Duties : **Position open until filled, so apply today!** The main goal of this project is for the VISTA to assist in developing and implementing new fund and volunteer development efforts. This includes developing a variety of community outreach strategies, marketing tools, increased media presence, special events, donor outreach, grant research/writing, and more! Overall, this project will help us operate more efficiently as well as reach further into the community to achieve greater result and affect positive outcomes for the children we serve.
