ISU Extension Linn County /Food Systems
 
 
 
The self-sustaining product will be exemplary teaching, research, outreach and delivery of hands-on, project based learning for youth, families and community members. New programming will focus on local food systems/ food security and natural resource stewardship, human nutrition and community enhancement. Linn County Extension will educate the community through the illustration of sustainability principles including, small scale agriculture and local food production, renewable/alternative energy, natural resource stewardship and eco-friendly practices in an urban setting. The AmeriCorps Vista Site Coordinator will be work with volunteers and community members to organize and complete hands-on project based activities in the urban facility and on the grounds.
