Member Duties : Summer Reads Mentors will help children entering K-5 to sustain and improve their literacy skills in fluency, phonics and vocabulary through one-to-one and small group reading opportunities for each child at least twice a week. Positive tutor interaction is important to generating a love of reading for enjoyment and learning fun which will benefit the child throughout their lifetime.
*Members serve full-time, approximately 40 hours per week, primarily Mon - Fri. Literacy Minnesota provides member trainings on most Fridays. Term of service is June 13–August 7. Orientation takes place virtually June 13-17. Multiple positions available. Literacy Minnesota fosters an organizational culture that is welcoming and inclusive to all.
