So. Nevada VISTA Program - Children's Advocacy Alliance
 
 
 
The Children's Advocacy Alliance works to improve lives of children living in Nevada, with a focus on chidren in low-income and at-risk communities. One of the new areas of focus for the CAA is Children's Safety. In order to bring awareness to safety issues impacting children in Nevada, the AmeriCorps VISTA member will develop resources and partnerships for the Nevada Sex Trafficking Awareness Campaign. Additionally, the VISTA member will develop data collection and monitoring structures for the Building Connections in Child Welfare program and participate in the Child Welfare Network. The VISTA member will be a vital piece of the CAA team and will help the voices of children be heard throughout the state of Nevada.

Member Duties : The VISTA Member will build capacity for the Children’s Advocacy Alliance which works to improve the lives children in Nevada. The Member will work specifically work towards the Children's Safety priority area with a focus on child welfare and sex trafficking in Nevada. The member will develop resources, structure and mechanisms to help promote child safety in Nevada. This will include researching existing models and systems for improving child welfare outcomes, researching and writing related grants, and developing physical resources for both the Services for Victims of Sex Trafficking Resource List and child welfare community in the state of Nevada.
