ShareCorps-Special Projects- Mid-Ohio Foodbank

Mid-Ohio Foodbank (MOF) provides food to hundreds of thousands of hungry Ohioans each year by partnering with more than 550 emergency feeding sites across 20 counties in central and eastern Ohio, including food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, senior centers, and after-school programs. Since 1980, the Foodbank has been dedicated to feeding hungry people by collecting and distributing food and grocery products, educating the community about hunger, advocating for hunger-relief programs, and collaborating with others who address basic human needs. In 2012, the Foodbank distributed more than 46 million pounds of food and grocery products to their partner charities, providing enough food 101,700 meals per day. Member Duties : The VISTA service members recruited for the Special Projects- Capacity Building initiative will work with the Mid-Ohio Foodbank (MOF) team to update and implement new program standards, training materials and evaluation rubrics for key hunger relief programs supported by the Foodbank. Programs include: -MOF Agency Partner Program -Fresh Food Program -Child Hunger Program -Nutrition Education Program.
