Rebuilding Together is a leading national nonprofit in safe and healthy housing with more than 40 years of experience. Together, we transform the lives of low-income homeowners by improving the safety and health of their homes and revitalizing our communities. We provide critical repairs, accessibility modifications, and energy efficiency upgrades to low-income homes and community centers at no cost to service recipients. Rebuilding Together’s local affiliates and nearly 100,000 volunteers complete about 10,000 rebuild projects nationwide each year. Member Duties : Rebuilding Together CapacityCorps has 60 full-time AmeriCorps members serving across the country from Aug 2016-June 2017. Rebuilding Together CapacityCorps builds the capacity of Rebuilding Together programs so that they may be more sustainable, effective, and efficient in helping more low-income homeowners in need. They serve essential roles in key areas such as: recruiting and managing volunteers, making direct home repair, performing outreach to homeowners, building community partnerships, and creating new programs. Member benefits include: living stipend; health insurance; a national network of Rebuilding Together affiliates and CapacityCorps alumni; extensive hands-on training in non-profit management; and opportunities to travel to our Orientation & Skills Training and annual MLK Week rebuilding project.
