Equity Corps, Federal Way Public Schools

FWPS AmeriCorps members support the students of Federal Way Public Schools by serving within AVID elective classrooms, Core subject classes, and after-school programming. AVID, our primary focus, is designed to help historically underrepresented students gain access to college and acquire college readiness skills. Serving in Equity Corps will allow you an inside look into the field of education. All Equity Corps members receive training and development to reinforce best practices in the field of education. Equity team members receive support and feedback in an inclusive environment designed to foster the development of leadership skills. This service experience can serve as a sustainable entry into the field of education and act as a springboard for any career specializing in youth services. This is a 40 hour per week, 6 month service term. All team members receive a monthly stipend per month (pre-tax), benefits, and are eligible for an Education Award upon successful completion of the service term. *This position is contingent upon funding. Applications will be reviewed in the order in which they are received with interviews taking place until placement is filled.
