Montana State Parks AmeriCorps Team Leader
Montana State Park AmeriCorps members love the outdoors and are passionate about improving opportunities for others to experience all that the state parks have to offer. They create educational programs, highlight park activities, and develop volunteer opportunities that get more people involved and excited about experiencing the outdoors. Members also work to enhance park land by developing nature trails, identifying invasive species, and conducting other outdoor activities. Service terms take place amid the stunning scenery, dazzling waters, geologic wonders, and cultural history of Montana State Parks. Member Duties : This is a TEAM LEADER position. Alumni of AmeriCorps and PeaceCorps programs are highly preferred, although applicants with an extensive history in leadership positions may be considered for this position. Responsibilities include: statewide coordination and implementation of special events, including National Days of Service, Bannack Days, Chief Plenty Coups Day of Honor, Butte Folk Fest; member support through organizing all team and individual member calls; coordination of regional member initiatives including land improvement projects; lending expertise in the areas of outdoor education, volunteer coordination, park land improvement, community outreach; presentation of relevant topics at all member orientations and member training events; planning other projects specific to the leader's skills and interests.
