Omaha Serves Neighborhood Initiatives VISTA
 
 
 
Omaha Serves is a grassroots driven organization committed to building the Omaha community to eradicate the causes of poverty and treat the victims of poverty. As an Omaha Serves Neighborhood Initiatives Director you will work with the Office of the Mayor and the Neighborhood Center, a coalition of neighborhood associations, to develop neighborhood blueprints that help each neighborhood customize available community resources to meet the unique needs of a neighborhood. You will also train and assist community leaders in using modern technology to increase the efficiency and capacity of neighborhood associations. A major part of the VISTA duties will be increase collaborative relationships between neighborhood associations and nonprofit organizations to address poverty issues throughout Omaha. You will also work with the Mayor's anti-graffiti coordinator to help Omaha fight against graffiti.

Member Duties : The Omaha Serves Neighborhood Initiatives VISTA will coordinate with neighborhood associations to develop neighborhood blueprints to customize use of community resources to meet each neighborhood's unique challenges. The VISTA will provide training for community organizations to use innovative tools that strengthen neighborhood projects. Importantly, the VISTA will connect neighborhood associations with nonprofit organizations to develop programs to fight poverty. The VISTA will also work with the Mayor's anti-graffiti coordinator in the fight against graffiti.
