NOLA Wise
 
 
 
Global Green USA seeks a committed and energetic person to join our New Orleans office in the NOLA Wise Energy Efficiency Financing program. This position has opportunities for in-depth training in green rebuilding. Position reports to the Program Manager of NOLA Wise. Primary duties will include working with the public to provide general and custom recommendations about energy efficiency home modifications, and performing home energy models to show projected savings after weatherization. Strong background and/or interest in green building, construction, and/or community outreach preferred.VISTA will work out of and support grant work for Global Green USA’s New Orleans programs and Green Building Resource Center, which has the most up to date sustainable product and vendor information, samples of environmentally friendly building materials, and also advises homeowners with professional one-on-one green building consultations. VISTA will gain knowledge of green building materials and policy and provide grant support for the Global Green Holy Cross Project Visitor Center, Policy Work, and Wetlands Program.

Member Duties : Attend training and become familiar with technologies related to Building Performance Institute standards, Home Energy Rating System, and/or Leadership in Energy Efficiency and Design; Develop systems for automating and upgrading home energy savings projection tools; Communicate the programmatic and financial resources available to homeowners as well as benefits of making a home energy efficient; Provide technical assistance for New Orleans homeowners; Complete follow up paperwork and determine next steps for homeowners; Assist with program reporting; Deliver workshops for a general audience, identify guest speakers, and develop training materials; Assist with canvassing, tabling, presentation and other grassroots outreach efforts in the community; Give tours of Global Green's Holy Cross house in the Lower Ninth Ward.
