United Way AmeriCorps is an AmeriCorps State/National program that is working to address poverty in Larimer County through volunteerism and volunteer management. We can’t fight poverty alone and more volunteers mean more capabilities. AmeriCorps is an opportunity to use your skills and gain new skills to make a big difference in the lives of people around you. In Colorado, AmeriCorps is supported by Serve Colorado. United Way AmeriCorps focuses on building volunteer capacity around health, education, and income within Larimer County through volunteerism. Volunteers get things done in our community every day to help people in poverty; AmeriCorps drives the efficiency and strength of these programs through volunteer management leadership. You can serve in one of the following nonprofits with United Way AmeriCorps: Northern Colorado AIDS Project Partners Mentoring Youth The Family Center/ La Familia The Matthews House Education and Life Training Center Make Change NoCo Touchstone Health Partners Girl Scouts of Colorado Homeward 20/20 Boys & Girls Club of Larimer County Teaching Tree Early Childhood Center The Housing Authority of the City of Loveland You will gain valuable skills in working in non-profits, and leave a lasting impact on the community.As a member, you might find yourself working on: Volunteer management, recruitment, and coordination Developing volunteer marketing materials Attending outreach fairs in Larimer County Developing volunteer tracking systems Supporting existing programs Working on intricate issues, from adult education to financial literacy and empowering youth, and more!

Member Duties : United Way AmeriCorps members will increase volunteer engagement in Larimer County nonprofit organizations fighting poverty. Through a diverse array of activities from volunteer management to recruiting local artists and performs to volunteer with youth, members will increase volunteerism in Larimer County. Beyond volunteer engagement, members will build the capacity of the host site agency through projects such as: creating a volunteer database to assist with annual homelessness county, develop residential programs for a housing authority, and recruit business volunteers to work with girl scouts.
