Member Duties : *Education & Outreach to students in the Bike ED program about healthy, energy efficient & cost-effective transportation (biking/walking) *Teach bike safety, skill, maintenance & trail system info *Coordinate annual trail rides for each school to familiarize students with facilities available for sustainable transportation *Assist FPS Safe Routes to School Task Force in assessing bike/ped participation, programs, perception & infrastructure to get more students walking & bicycling safely to & from school *Assist in conducting surveys to document participants’ increased awareness of environmentally conscious practices *Support PE teachers’ implementing Bike ED curriculum *Coordinate with high school class for bicycle repair *Develop & implement audits of infrastructure needed to increase walking & biking to and from school *Research walking school bus models and work with a pilot school to begin a program *Assist with promotion of the Bike ED program and Safe Routes to School
