Rappahannock Council Against Sexual Assault

Our primary purpose is to provide services to victims of sexual assault/abuse, dating violence, and stalking. Our vision is to serve as a model organization for providing comprehensive services to survivors and their families of sexual violence. Our purpose/goal is to provide comprehensive services (including hotline support, crisis response, counseling (individual and group), hospital accompaniment, and case management) to victims of child sexual abuse, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking. RCASA also provides community outreach and education services, as well as sexual violence prevention education in our communtiy. RCASA's service area is defined as Planning District 16 and is comprised of the city of Fredericksburg and the counties of Caroline, King George, Spotsylvania and Stafford. We serve all ages, gender, and ethnicity.

Member Duties : As a Development VISTA with RCASA you will develop new fundraising strategies, network with new partners and non-profit professionals, and identify renewable fundraising resources to include large and small donors, special events, and grant funding. You will have the opportunity to identify, plan, and execute 2 fundraising events. Additionally, you will write grant proposals with the Grants Manager. You will also develop and update a donor database to track, report, and follow up with various donors. You will also develop a new donor webpage and newsletter and strengthen donor stewardship. Finally, you will train volunteers and staff to maintain fundraising activities and systems. To be successful at this VISTA position, you will need to work closely with the Executive Director, the Grants Manager, and the Board of Directors.
