American Red Cross NPRC - Texas Gulf Coast Region
Texas Gulf Coast Region (TGCR) will engage 4 AmeriCorps members in direct service activities from September 02, 2014 to July 31, 2015 at 4 locations along the coast (Lufkin, Beaumont, Victoria, and Houston). The TGCR is a 51 county service area that ranks nationally among the highest in risk rating for natural disaster occurrences. It also features pockets of high poverty, with limited resiliency attributes. Serving alongside paid and volunteer staff, AmeriCorps members will also provide direct service to clients and expand preparedness outreach of the American Red Cross through the accomplishment of National Preparedness & Response Corps goals and objectives. Members will complete projects that enhance organizational service delivery, expand community resources, community preparedness education, mobilize strategic planning with at-risk populations, and have the opportunity to develop skills for future professional settings. NON-DISCRIMINATION PUBLIC NOTICE: This program's recruitment is conducted without regard to race, color, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, age, gender, religion or political affiliation.
