MLSA - Opportunity Link - Rocky Boy, MT

Opportunity Link's mission is to use systematic, empirically-supported methods to reduce poverty in North Central Montana while increasing community independence and prosperity. Established in 2004 by local stakeholders and community leaders in partnership with the Northwest Area Foundation, they have worked in the areas of asset and wealth creation, including housing, free tax sites, and financial literacy education, public transportation, including the establishment of the North Central Montana Transit system, and economic development, including industry and workforce development. Opportunity Link's Wealthy Futures project, was developed in partnership with several North Central Montana community organizations, and is designed to address low financial literacy skill levels and poor financial decision-making by pulling together existing resources on financial education, financial and credit coaching, and income tax preparation services and making them more accessible. Opportunity Link seeks a VISTA to expand capacity and help establish and expand services in the vulnerable community of Rocky Boy.
