Fayetteville State University's Office of College Access Programs mission is to encourage and assist youth who are traditionally under-represented in post-secondary education with preparation for, entry into, and completion of a post-secondary education. The office comprises of Talent Search (TRiO), Upward Bound Math & Science (TRIO), 21st Century Community Learning Centers and Upward Bound (TRiO), which are federally funded college access programs. The Office provides a broad range of high-quality college preparatory services to support students, parents, and educators. The position will support one of the units.

Member Duties : The Program Assistant/Mentor will support programming to decrease summer learning loss and increase college access. Responsibilities include: assisting in developing instructional curriculum; providing interventions to prepare middle and high school low-income students for school success and college preparation; serving as a tutor; providing support by researching and developing survival skills activities and STEM related workshops; incorporating technology into general activities; facilitating technology based workshops and assisting in science labs; developing marketing materials; integrating social media strategies; and compiling data for evaluation reports.
