Member Duties : The VISTA will develop and expand current workshop and cooking demonstration curricula, work with community-based agencies who host courses for their clients in efforts to expand reach of program and recruit, train, and retain culinary, nutrition and support volunteers who lead nutrition education courses. They will also develop and maintain policies and procedures relating to the Nutrition Education Department's programs, solicit community collaborations that support the Nutrition Education Department and continuously evaluate Nutrition Education programs to ensure that both participant and volunteer needs are being met as well as assist with streamlining documentation.
The VISTA must commit to one full year of service, have a college degree, preferably in Nutrition or a related field, and have an interest in nutrition and culinary arts. They must also have the ability to work independently and with diverse populations, own a car and have a current driver's license.
