Elder Law of MI Volunteer and Staff Development Coordinator
 
 
 
THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN LANSING, MI. The Volunteer and Staff Development Coordinator AmeriCorps* VISTA position will work with Elder Law of Michigan, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is dedicated to protecting and assisting older adults and people with disabilities in obtaining access to public benefits such as food, medical, free legal advice, protection against fraud, and assistance with obtaining pensions. The VISTA will support ELMs volunteer coordination initiative by working with the ELM team of professionals to implement new trainings and strategies to improve and sustain the capacity of the organizations volunteer initiative.

Member Duties : The Volunteer and Staff Development Coordinator AmeriCorps* VISTA will work with Elder Law of Michigan (ELM) staff to increase the volunteer programs capacity. The VISTA will be responsible for developing standard training for legal volunteers and on the benefits that the Benefits Enrollment and Options Center has to offer; plan and implement recognition events; develop a long-term volunteer retention and follow up protocol; recruit new volunteers; and develop individualized trainings to meet staff needs.
