Charleston Area Service Collaborative- Literacy
 
 
 
Through our VISTA placements, we seek to increase the literacy skills of low-income children in the Charleston community by supporting evidence-based programs with established track records of success. We are seeking to fill the VISTA Position with the Charleston County Public Library. The position focuses on building partnerships and conducting outreach into the low-income communities surrounding 2 of the branches of the library, with a heavy emphasis on Hispanic communities. The overall goal is to increase access to and use of the library by the community. ****Spanish speaking preferred**** ****Seeking applicants who have already served as a VISTA member****

Member Duties : Members working to increase literacy for low-income children in the Charleston community will strengthen the capacity of established organizations to deliver their programming by expanding programs to new schools, increasing community engagement, and managing volunteers.
