RESOURCE-Communications Coordinator & Program Assistant-PSEI

For over 50 years, RESOURCE has been empowering people to achieve greater personal, social and economic success. RESOURCE-Employment Action Center (EAC), the employment focused division of RESOURCE, empowers and prepares individuals and families to achieve their education and employment potential. RESOURCE-EAC is guided by the vision that all people will achieve respect, value and success at home, in school, and in the workplace while ensuring people are financially able to support themselves and their families and build a stable and fulfilling future. RESOURCE-EAC is seeking a VISTA member to help us recruit and retain participants for our sectoral employment initiatives, which prepare low-income single parents for careers in high-demand occupational fields. The VISTA member will also cultivate relationships with local healthcare sector employers in order to help us to build career pathways in the healthcare sector for our participants. In this project you will use your skills in public relations, outreach, marketing, organization, social media, computers and communication. RESOURCE-EAC programs produce excellent job placement, wage and job retention outcomes. Our work helps build better communities in the Twin Cities by engaging employers in efforts that help stabalize single parent families through training and employment. This position is part of the Phillips Sectoral Employment Initiative (PSEI) VISTA Program. The PSEI supports industry-focused training and placement programs at Twin Cities metro area nonprofit organizations that equip low income job-seekers with the skills needed to secure quality employment. The PSEI believes that low-income job seekers with barriers to employment should be equipped with the right skills to compete for jobs in growing industries such as healthcare, manufacturing, and construction.
