Refugee Support Network- VISTA Leader

The Refugee Support Network increases services to refugees living in King County by building capacity and coordinating activities and services between seven participating organizations. As the sponsor agency, the International Rescue Committee (IRC) will serve as the fiscal agent and provide overall coordination for the project. Since 1976, IRC in Seattle has resettled over 20,000 refugees from more than 30 different countries by providing them with basic needs such as housing, food, financial assistance, access to social services, medical care, education and ongoing case management. In addition to the resettlement of approximately 600 refugees annually, the IRC in Seattle assists over 300 refugees, asylees and victims of human trafficking every year through additional services such as immigration assistance, social services, case management, continuing education and youth programming. IRC's partners in the Refugee Support Network are Asian Counseling and Referral Service, Coalition for Refugees from Burma, East African Community Services, Jewish Family Service, School's Out Washington, and Somali Community Services Coalition.
