Rebuilding Together is a housing nonprofit with affiliates in Dutchess County, NY, and across the country. Together, we transform the lives of low-income homeowners by improving the safety and health of their homes and revitalizing our communities. Rebuilding Together works to strengthen the lives of our most vulnerable communities by providing low-income homeowners with critical home repairs, accessibility modifications and energy-efficient upgrades. Rebuilding Together's local affiliates and nearly 100,000 volunteers complete about 10,000 rebuild projects each year. We believe that everyone deserves to live in a safe and healthy home. As we help to stabilize and revitalize neighborhoods across the country, our lasting impact extends beyond each home. On average, our homeowners live at or below the poverty level and are forced to choose between food, medicine and shelter needs. We provide these critical home repairs at no cost to qualified homeowners. Rebuilding Together is often the last resort to preserving their homeownership – their only personal asset.

Member Duties : Rebuilding Together SummerCorps is seeking members to serve full-time in Poughkeepsie from May 7 to July 6. Summer AmeriCorps members (also called SummerCorps) with Rebuilding Together Dutchess County will serve crucial roles: lead the initiative and collaborate with staff, partners and volunteers to implement the Fire Safety and Light It Up programs, review and understand new and existing programs, identify any new and develop existing partnerships with local government and community organizations to assist with outreach and target area identification, recruit and train volunteers, and plan and execute the scheduled installation days.
