Legacy Corps for Veterans and Military Families
 
 
 
The Legacy Corps is a national direct AmeriCorps project that operates in 9 states at 16 project sites. Members provide 8-10 hours of caregiver support services per week to veterans and/or military family members who are care taking for a family member. Hours are flexible and training is provided. This is a one year term at quarter-time of 450 hours per year. Preference is given to veterans and military family members.

Member Duties : Talk with disabled veterans and military family members, read to them, do hobbies, play music, distribute caregiver support information,etc. Members are matched with clients of like interest and close geographical proximity when possible.
 
Program Benefits : Education award upon successful completion of service ,  Living Allowance ,  Training .

Permits attendance at school during off hours ,  Permits working at another job during off hours .
