OARS (Opportunities with AmeriCorps for Reentry Success)

OARS will utilize national service participants to address offender needs surrounding reentry. This program provides real-world professional training, experiences, and learning opportunities in a correctional environment. National service participants will help decrease barriers to employment and education for persons with felony convictions. Members provide academic tutoring and facilitate workshops on cognitive behavior, financial literacy, life skills, and family reunification. To Apply, please fill out an AmeriCorps online application with references, and e-mail a resume and cover letter to conor.coleman@state.nm.us. The cover letter should tell me why you are applying to become an AmeriCorps volunteer in a prison environment and what qualifications you think you have that will assist you in your volunteerism with this program.
