Boys & Girls Clubs in Indian Country

Have you envisioned yourself leading a non-profit or community-based organization? With Boys & Girls Clubs in Indian Country (BGCIC), you'll work to build capacity for a youth serving organization and gain experience in program management. The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. BGCA began expanding services to Native American communities in 1992. There are now Clubs serving nearly 90 tribes in 25 states, with close to 200 sites. Over 90,000 Native American youth, ages 6 to 18, benefit from Club programs. BGCIC provides A Positive Place where Native American young people can go; to celebrate their culture and community; to enjoy healthy fun with their peers and to learn new skills and self-confidence under the guidance of responsible adults. By achieving the project goals and positioning local Boys & Girls Clubs to have maximum impact on the youth they serve, a local Club is lifting the community out of poverty by creating community leaders and employees of the future and introducing youth to positive lifestyle choices that will make them productive, healthy members of society.
