Anti-Hunger & Empowerment Corps (Community Gardening)

The New York City Coalition Against Hunger (NYCCAH) in collaboration with Green Guerillas, is seeking three summer AmeriCorps members for the 2013 Anti-Hunger and Empowerment Corps program. This is the perfect opportunity for someone interested in supporting community gardeners and working in community gardens and urban farms. Applicants must be excited to work outdoors, work side-by-side with community gardeners and youth, conduct grassroots outreach, help increase urban food production and access to healthy foods. We are looking for people who are self-motivated and energetic. There are three positions available. The three members will work as a team and individually in Central Brooklyn and Western Queens on a range of activities. People with any combination of skills and experience in urban farming, youth organizing, community organizing, and food justice activities are encouraged to apply. We seek to create a team of three people who will complement each other, support each other, and complete a summer of activities toward a common goal.
